Jonah Bell is a Fort Lauderdale local and the author of
Ghosts, Legends & Lore from Florida, a growing series that brings
documented regional history into conversation with the legends people still tell.
The books are written for curious locals, Florida visitors, history readers, and
anyone who has looked at an old hotel, quiet road, weathered landmark, or stretch
of shoreline and wondered what happened there.
Each volume keeps documented history and folklore clearly apart. Legends are
presented in context — as the stories a community tells — never dressed up as
proven supernatural fact.
History tells us what happened. Folklore tells us what a place remembers.
Florida is the first collection in the series, with more of the state — and,
in time, other states — still to come.

Beyond the Florida collection.
Jonah also writes outside regional history. These are separate projects, not
part of the Ghosts, Legends & Lore series.
